Solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners: Freedom for Ahmad Sa’adat, Marwan Barghouthi and all Palestinian Political prisoners!

Rally at Syntagma Square, Athens, Tuesday, October 21, 6:30 pm

The latest Israeli invasion and aggression on Gaza was accompanied by brutal repression, arrests and abductions of Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Occupied Palestine ’48. Thousands of Palestinians were imprisoned – some just having been released after years of incarceration in Israeli dungeons. Resistance to the brutal Zionist occupation has arisen from generation to generation in the dungeons of the occupation, in the perpetual Palestinian struggle against torture and oppression.

On September 14, occupation prison authorities banned family visits for three months for Ahmad Sa’adat, imprisoned Palestinian leader and general secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The action comes amid the prohibition of family visits to hundreds of Palestinian political prisoners, at the discretion of the officials of the Israeli occupation, since June this year. The denial of family visits has aimed to cut the Palestinian prisoners from all communication with their families, their communities and the world outside prison, and also to collectively punish the Palestinian families, by denying them access to detainees loved ones.
Responding to the call of the Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat to take action from 17 to 25 October to highlight the struggle of Palestinian prisoners for justice and freedom and to demand an end to the refusal of family visits, we will protest in Syntagma Square, Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30 PM
