Ramallah – Ma’an – An Israeli military court on Wednesday postponed PFLP leader Ahmad Saadat’s hearing until July 29th 2007.

The representative from the national campaign for defending Palestinian legitimacy condemned the postponement of Saadat’s case, as PLC members expressed astonishment at the way Israeli courts deal with Palestinian officials.

In a statement received by Ma’an, the Campaign declared that they “refuse to recognize the legitimacy of this court, that the [detained] PLC members and other officials were abducted by the Israeli forces. The PLC members were elected through fair elections, witnessed and facilitated by the global community… They were elected by the Palestinian people”.

The statement condemned the silence of the Arab world and the international community, and urged human rights organizations “to form a wide front to defend the representatives of the Palestinians.”
